Subject: You are creating email SPAM

I sent one email to myself from my
imaretard@thisisp.net account a couple
of days ago and now I am getting a
lot of SPAM on that account. I have
not had a problem with this account
recently.

What is going on?

I personally can't think of a response more helpful than "LOL"

Hello,

I am in need of assistance from some of the fine members of this community. I work for a major ISP that is in the process of improving it's Mac support. I am in the process of creating support documentation for the helpdesks and am currently working on the airport section, but alas I have no airport here to work with. What I need is if someone (a very kind someone) would be willing to take screenshots of walking through the setup for an Airport base station and an Airport Express. I don't need the configuration as I can get those screenies online, but the actual setup process. Please note, I can find walkthroughs, but need the screenshots to go along with them.

Thank you for all of your help!

So I get the following email from one of my users....

I am a new employee in Midland, Tx. I am having problems with the shared folders...namely the Midland Public Folder. I have been working on it since 11 this morning working on the Weekly Reports and yet when Supervisor here in the office went in to look at my updates she does not have them, yet they are done in my computer...apparently my computer has a problem with "sharing"...could you please help me with this?

I respond with:

Where exactly are the files you are trying to work on?

How are you saving them? Are you opening them up from the server itself?

And she comes back with....

As far as I know I am...I went in and searched the Network from My Network Places and found it, Supervisor helped me. The files I am working on are in the Midland Public Files folder, then Weekly Reports.

*headdesk*

Does she not understand the word 'exactly'?

My guess is she's not saving or something equally stupid.

Some people shouldn't be allowed phones.

And no, I don't mean customers this time. I mean myself.

My wife is at her mother's, recovering from surgery, and I woke myself up this morning. I had to be at work at 8:30am this morning, and woke up and looked at my watch.

8:18am. shiite. I throw myself up off of the couch, and immediately grab my wife's cellphone. Call my boss, leave her a message saying how I had an allergic reaction last night and overslept this morning.

I then looked at my watch, looked at the clock on the computer, and called my boss back telling her to disregard my previous message.

It was 7:19. I had forgotten to set my watch back for daylight savings time. Of all the bizaare issues I fix at work, and I'm thrown off by sodding daylight savings time. Go figure.

I R Teh Stoopid sometimes.

I work in tech support for an ISP. I deal with the customers through a chat interface which sometimes makes them a little bit easier to deal with. This customer though, I just laughed out loud at.

me: [standard greeting] How can I help you?
cust: Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. The command line argument is not valid. Verify the switch you are using.

I know this isn't really a [ISP] problem. But can you help?

Three guesses as to what my reply was and the first two don't count. :P
