Jan. 25th, 2006 12:39 amDear Sir,
I'm sure when you leave an angry voicemail filled with insults, profanity, legal threats to the company, and employment threats to me, you picture some schmuck behind a desk freaking out that his boss might hear it and fire him on the spot. What really happens is that he invites his boss over to his desk, along with the rest of the department, and they all listen to it over speaker phone.
Then they laugh at you.

Meanwhile, the big boss was busy sending the recording to corporate.
Good times.

He could no longer call tech support, because I might pick up, and had signed up for a 1 year contract with us (cheaper rate)

Date: 2006-01-25 04:57 pm (UTC)During my helldesk days, I took a 20 odd minute call from one guy who was absolutely furious with his account executive, and apparently needed someone at the company to vent to. He didn't have a "tech support" question per se, but I was patient, listened carefully, took notes, and promised to forward it to my boss. I never did find out what happened.
That was when I was young wet behind the ears, and _very_ naieve.
Or maybe not. I still do it every now and again.
