I've done this before but cannot remember the key combination...

There is a way to highlight vertically in Notepad or MS Word by using 2 keyboard keys... I cannot remember what keys to hold while selecting the text and dragging down, not across.

This way you can choose to delete say every first character on every line but leaving the rest of the text to the right alone.

Does anyone know this? I did this less than a year ago and it worked GREAT.

It can be both, especially when said "idiot" has apologized and posted in the wrong area on accident. Give him/her a break.
