I've done this before but cannot remember the key combination...

There is a way to highlight vertically in Notepad or MS Word by using 2 keyboard keys... I cannot remember what keys to hold while selecting the text and dragging down, not across.

This way you can choose to delete say every first character on every line but leaving the rest of the text to the right alone.

Does anyone know this? I did this less than a year ago and it worked GREAT.

Wrong community sorry!

If this person hasn't figured out in 3 years of help desk what RTFM means, I sincerely pity the law firm that hired them. And in case you haven't noticed what kind of community this is, it is a very much snark the person who knows less than me. In theory you could snark me because I don't know how to set up a SAN. But on the other hand, I got to poke at my local admin because he couldn't figure out how to put a RAM stick in his laptop; it has been just that long since he had to deal with my level of hardware. There is always someone smarter around the corner.

I gave fair warning to remove the post. They didn't, and so the shit gets stirred and flung.
