Telling me you know about the 'almighty' static-IP, and that I know shit, doesn't help. Actually upgrading your security hardware like the previous 5 people, and company, told you because of the huge-ass memory leak, does.

Blaming me for your internet connection crapping* out on you after my service call 'could' be my fault, but wasn't.

*Paying you actual DSL bill on time, or any bill in fact on time, would help not get shut off.

Calling the cops to your store because I ain't leaving till I get paid, then lying to the cops that I'm a crook and your computer was fine till you asked me to fix it, yet the cops fully understand that you are lying, is bullshit.

I'm still awaiting that apology, bitch, and my $135 check.

(It didn't play out to well. Too many cops started showing up, and I ended up getting barred from the property because cops #3,4,5,6 didn't understand what was going on, and told me to gtfo. "Problem solved." Right...

Dear $random_student:

A few thoughts:

  • No, I cannot tell you what is wrong with your machine with any certainty at the check-in counter. If I could diagnose machines merely be laying hands upon them, I certainly would not be working here.  Unless you have a blatantly obvious problem (and you don't), anything I tell you at the check-in counter is at best an educated guess, and at worst a WAG.
  • Yes, I am fully aware that you need a machine to take your tests on. Yours will be fixed as quickly as possible. I explained this to you as nicely as possible, using small words even a 3 year old could have parsed without difficulty.  Calling afterwards to complain to the shop manager that you were not sufficently coddled after the fact was very poor form. But since I am a professional, the machine will get fixed on time anyway.
