Had a realtor call in and... well, let me just share my own notes from the call:

Cust having issue with an attachment. It won't open in Adobe.
Not a pdf file.
Text.
Opened in Word.
Was the contents of the email:
'I'm faxing you those documents.'
Cust panicking that the rest of the documents aren't there.

Educated cust on difference between fax and email.
Ok.

Oh, how I love being threatened via email...

I do NOT want it since I have several else freely bought antiwares.  If you don't take it out of my system right now, I am going to report you to the Better Business and make big noise about the damn thing in public.

PS. I am former editor-in-chief from Europe, now ret.  But I still remember the strings.

OH NOES! NOT THE STRINGS!

Alright folks! That's it, it's time that we finally strike back!

At least in our own imaginations. ;-P

Let's start with making the "Tech Support The RPG"!!!

What say you?

I've been answering the phones at the helpdesk for a small ISP for 4 years, and I just got the first call where I really had to ask "is your computer even turned on?"

I think I thought you were all joking when you tell these types of stories..

It got worse- she thought the monitor was the computer, she thought the computer was the DVD player, at one point I think she turned on her television.. it was bad. I ended up suggesting that maybe she have her son come take a look at it. Fortunately, if I can ping the router that's as far as I really have to support :]

On a side note, what's with having some some swag dropped off after a meeting, and everyone in the office srambling for it like it's gold? I've never seen adults fight over cheap ballpoint pens and bouncy balls like the clowns I work with.

Ha!

So you know how your friends always ask you to fix their computer? Or friends of friends? (I really hate that one, btw.) I just figured out a loophole. This will only work on friends you don't see everyday, because they'll know better. Anyway, tell them that sure, you'll help out. But the catch is to tell them you're too busy to get to it until next week - as in seven (7) days. I kid you not, 90% of the time they will figure out "the problem" before a week goes by, then cancel the appointment.

A sigh of relief to follow.
