coyoteden.livejournal.comThe very small (me and the boss) company I work for is occasionally contracted to do local work for much larger companies. There's plenty of opportunity for us to get screwed every step of the way by said larger corps, and it's happened before, but not with the most recent one I did. Not at all.
If anyone here works for IDEXX Systems, I'd just like to give a big thanks in general.
I'm writing this because we're just finishing up the paperwork and sending off the bill for the work we did at an area vet clinic. New cabling, new systems, hardware and software install, all contracted thru IDEXX. The clinic seriously underspec'ed their new hardware, the place was a mess to pull cable in, the staff was clooless... but the contractor's support was stellar. Prompt, knowledgeable, understanding, everything...
...even when the totally unexpected happened, like the cableco guy showing up a full 48 hours late and then spending half an hour trying to find his cable signal on the coax I ran from one room to another. Dude, you might want to try the outlet the TV is plugged into instead. Oh, and the new HP Laserjet that came with a cracked toner cartridge. I discovered this far too late. It held together long enough for me to put it in the printer, realize nothing was printing (the drum had come loose from the toner roller), and pull it back out... That's when it decided to split open. All over the damn place.
This printer was drop-shipped (no pun intended) form HP directly to the clinic, and IDEXX was still nice enough to send another cart overnight when I told them what happened.
Oh yeah, and the most important part... they actually pay us within 30 days.
When it's one professional to another luserishness shouldn't be a factor. I expect to get good support. It's nice to get it for a change.
