"havening" (...)
"suppository" (should be "repository")
"data tickling" (should be "data trickling")
"quarantine digestion" (should be "quarantine digest")

I've only taken three calls so far. As a side note, all these folks have been from Florida.

My number state I hate doing tech support for.

I actually had that mentioned on my yearly review that I need to stop being "regionalistic" in dealing with customers from certain geographic locations. Now I'm not on the phones, I'm in chat and my comments are made to my coworkers not the customer.

I don't know if it's the "old fuck" factor of moving there to die or just rude elderly new yorkers also moving there to die. All come into chat withthe attitude "My shit doesn't stink and you OWE ME MONTHS AND MONTHS OF CREDIT!" Either way, you're right. A big ass storm should knock them off the map.

I hate to say but I get excited when it's hurricane season. "Awww your house blew away and you can't connect to your email to send your forwards? awwwww..."

I've done some data tickling. On a production server even.

Unfortunately, it was not to the company's HR database giving me a pay raise and vesting in the company's stock program.. ::snicker::

Today I had somebody call me with some question about how to "defraggle" his computer. Finger on the mute, I asked exactly how many Fraggles he thinks we're dealing with.

Then again, to turn the tables I told a costumer that the equipment he was looking for was a dongle and he thought I was making up words.

I instantly envisioned a defrag interface much like the old DOS versions of Norton Disk Doctor from days of yore. Only as defragg(l)ing progressed, the blocks would sprout multicolored hair, dance around the screen and land in their new locations while 'Manuh Manuh' played in a loop.

I live in Dallas, TX and I will heartily agree with you.

Of all the places I have worked that supported the entire continental U.S., FL and GA are traditionally the worst to deal with when it comes to somethng of a technical nature. Perhaps we ('we' meaning my coworkers and I) are biased because we inherenty allow more patience for those in our own state.
