A friend of mine discovered this bit of geeky retribution.
Peruse for your amusement.

That is all.

Just thought of a new one, replace all the images with the broken image image!

A coworker pointed me to this earlier. Damn, that'd almost be worth opening my wireless

My suggestion was to strip all the HTTP headers out of the outbound requests, send them into a haiku generator, and then pipe the output to Google's "I'm Feeling Lucky" script.

Kittenwar is highly addictive. Highly.

I'd like to see every third or fifth request return a random page from the last thousand requests. That way, browsing would be a horrible, soul-sucking, potentially embarrasing experience which couldn't be repaired no matter how many caches they cleared, OSes they reinstalled or hard disks they formatted.

I had a list of alternate behaviours I would have liked to see implemented, either being selected randomly or able to be chosen by the owner of the connection. These included random salting of Goatse and Tubgirl (at certain percentages of all image requests), random salting of porn if this was likely to cause trouble, psuedo-random redirections, "jams" where the same page loaded over and over, bandwidth limiting based on a number of factors including request frequency, keywords and time of day etc, fake error messages, access blackouts, semi-random image modifications as per the original page (as well as other modifications), text keyword replacement and/or partial random language translation, and a range of other mischevious effects.

Some of the more annoying YTMNDs could be put to good use in this fashion as well.

Awesome.

Out here. I'm not quite sure if anyone can use my access point, as it's locked down as far as a 6 year old AP running the latest firmware will allow. (SSID broadcast turned off, WEP 128 bit)

I've a half mind to go into the DHCP server and set up it up so that it hands out based on a MAC address database. This would make it pretty damn difficult to steal my bandwidth, although a static IP will still fool it.

It's suprisingly easy to spoof a MAC address on a wireless network to get around MAC filtering.

...not that I'd know.

True, but it makes it a little easier. I could also just static all the machines and kill of the DHCP server as well.

Myself, I woulda just secured the network in the FIRST place. Before, y'know, anyone decided to start stealing net access.

Yeah, I made the mistake of turning my wife on to the KittenWar site; it took several days for my hearing to recover from the onslaught of squealing. The woman is capable of stating the phrase "Omigodthisoneissoooocuuuuute!!!" at a high-pitched frequency that can sterilize male bears.
