Did you know that the flat end of a USB cable can fit into an Ethernet port?

Neither did I...nor would I have ever thought of doing that. But after spending 5 minutes with a guy that swears he has a USB cable plugged in, and receiving no new hardware wizard, I finally discover that he had put the USB cable in the ethernet port I had just had him remove the ethernet cable from....

It was a common problem for me among customers when the iMac's first came out (with the firewire port right next to the usb ports)

Well THAT I at least would have understood. But this was Windows...and the ethernet port looks NOTHING like the USB port...

However, I do feel your pain...been there before too.

That you would have at least understood? Why that? An ethernet port is an ethernet port, and looks nothing like a USB port, regardless of operating system

I was comparing to firewire vs. usb, not usb vs. ethernet in this response... hehe
