I provide tech support to Americans and Canadians over the phone. This person is from Texas, it explains Bush.



Caller: What state are you in?

Me: I'm not in a state, I'm in Canada.

Caller: Are you sure?

Me: I should think I know where I am.

Caller: But I'm in Texas and called the 1-800 number, how can you be in Canada?

Me: That's just the way the phone system works.

I'm in the same sort of tech boat and when I say I'm from Canada I usually get 'oh that's why you're so nice/polite/etc'.
