Red Alert!

There's one particular person at work who calls me on my cellphone nearly every Friday on my day off, usually with some really stupid problem.

I was playing around with my new RAZR phone, and figured out how to create my own ring tones. So I set that particular user's phone number as the red alert klaxon from Star Trek.

Now I'll know when NOT to answer the phone....

yoinked. I'm going to see about adding it to my treo. Unfortuantely, I can't install it on my sidekick ( although it'll play it, which is pretty cool.

I have a particularly irritating user set up on my work cellphone with the name "do not answer"!

In a previous job, I was called on a day off by a user. I told them to call the helpdesk as I was not in the office. User persisted. I told them to CALL THE HELPDESK, I AM ON A DAY OFF and hung up.

User got the message, and later apologised for calling me on day off!

I have a company call phone.
Users have asked for the number.
I tell them "No."
Call our call center - if I'm needed, they will call me.

It's worked well the past few years...

For almost two years I've had a company cell.

my lusers has been (mostly) trained to call my at my desk for the most part or to submit a paper work order ticket.

And very very soon, they will be losing cell phone access to me, because a) Bosses have given me a shiny new phone (It's a treo 650!), and because we are chaning the number. ::cheers::

We are implementing a helpdesk at some point in the future, and _all_ calls will be directed through there. at that point they will change my phone number, and only the helpdesk (and whatever vendors I choose) will have it.

Unfortunately work and the hospital both have automatic call blocking... The hospital calling is UBERIMPORTANT where work calling is ya what ever.

the hospital is being stupid; talk to their administrator. If they don't want people to call various lines aorud the hospital, they can get the phone company to fake all their lines' caller ID to the single official number, just like the local college here did.
