"works" is not maybe the best term, it runs my instant messerngers while i play games on the big rig, and lets me get email and stuff when i am on the road.
I have a similar rig, its a 800MHz with 128MB ram, running XP pro. I use it only to surf the web, and run my IM programs and email while I am gaming. Also useful for when I am playing my PS2 and get stuck on a game and need to look up some help.
I do have to make sure I run defrag and scandisk weekly or it gets unusable.
