I saw a laptop about 2 years ago that had XP Home as the OS that only had 128MB of RAM. It was a Gateway if I remember correctly.

Its a sad combo, it also doesnt have integrated CD or floppy

When it went kerplunk i couldnt get win 98 to boot up, but i was finally able to get XP to boot up and load

"works" is not maybe the best term, it runs my instant messerngers while i play games on the big rig, and lets me get email and stuff when i am on the road.

I have a similar rig, its a 800MHz with 128MB ram, running XP pro. I use it only to surf the web, and run my IM programs and email while I am gaming. Also useful for when I am playing my PS2 and get stuck on a game and need to look up some help.

I do have to make sure I run defrag and scandisk weekly or it gets unusable.

This is a few days later... were you able to recover much of your data? Or were the bad sectors in the picture just the beginning?

I ask because just over a month ago, my hard drive started going, and I lost an entire partition. (saved the other 3 though, happily).
