You know, my job would probably be easier if I had some great tools to work with.

The thing that stresses me out on a daily basis is this demonic Remedy Ticket tracking system. I swear, it crashes on me at least 2-3 times a day.

The solution to fix it is to close it and reopen it back up.

Here's an idea...how about we get rid of remedy and not to use it? I remember the good old days where we would use it, give the # to the customer and not have to worry about crashes.

Now they've screwed it up royally where it can write to the account software, check signals on the modem, and give us Work order history, and them some.

My hands aren't broken. I could do all of these tasks better without remedy...

and quicker too!

Whoever made remedy...or updated with all the "new and improved stuff" needs to go screw themselves.

That is all.

Hahahaha, Remedy is just shit. If they're now integrating it with NxTT and SSP, I pity you.

The thing I hate about Remedy is that it is actually a great ticketing system. When it is working, it is a beautiful thing. The problem is that it is so extensable that nobody ever leaves it the bloody hell alone.

Hmm... Integrated it with signal levels... reads modem levels.

They didn't also try to "rename" it to "TTS", did they? =P

If not, then too many cable providers are bastardizing Remedy. If so, then I know who you work for, and I'm sorry.

In my recently left job, we also had Remedy crashing multiple times a day. It was horrible. I'd have a long case typed in. I wouldn't save because if I saved multiple times it wouldn't count for First Call Closure....and then it would crash as I went to save. Grrrr.....

We had similar problems with the help-desk management software (it begins with a V) at our work place. It wasn't crashing 2-3 times a day, mind you, but when we were at our bussiest, it would lock up hard, making it necessary to write tickets by hand while they did a reboot. They eventually took care of that problem by disabling the auto-refresh feature. If you want to see new tickets in the queue, you need to refresh it manually.

I wonder if disabling features in Remedy would be of any benefit?

ouch.. we use a ticketing system at my work by Seible.. it is horribly bastardized... we cannot click the back button (web beased) in the browser or it crashes... we also can't hit enter to search.. have to use alt enter.. (enter alone doesn't do anything)

it is very very odd...

Sounds like the same software we use, when we first started using it 2+ years ago it had the nick name "iCrash" because it crashed at least once a call. notes were kept in note pad until you had a minute to enter them all in at a stable moment.

We use siebel, too, but we can use the "enter" key to search. Still can't use the back button, though.

Really entertaining is when some one took our ticketing system to it's knees and then buried it by doing a search on the name "Smith". Being a multinational company with well over a billion customers you can immagine what that did to the system. It took a couple days for the database to recover.
