Busted Firewall?
Jun. 1st, 2005 09:35 amIt started early this morning:
User: The firewall is broken.
me: Oh, is your internet not working?
User: no it's fine, but I just got some junk mail.
They do say a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

Date: 2005-06-01 01:43 am (UTC)Oh yea, an automated RMA mailer - supposed to get the credit RMA number in 24 hours or so.
It warned me that if I don't get it in 24 hours, my firewall could be broken.

Date: 2005-06-01 01:45 am (UTC)I work in an internet cafe. If it's a buzzword, it's being misused. Especially by people who arn't confident enough to own a computer, but wouldn't want anyone to know that so they cover it up by "initating a contact with your firewall MSN server". That meant he wanted to send an email.
