teh stupid....IT BURRRRRRRRRNS
Mar. 27th, 2005 08:59 pmI'm having some problems with my DSL router. Specifically its being a skanky bitch and having hardware lockups when I attempt to initiate a DCC send in IRC in any port under 5000. I suspect it's either a firmware glitch, or a problem with IRC itself as winmx uses TCP and UDP ports far below this threshold without any hiccoughs (and DCC chat goes through fine), as does all other traffic when tested.
So, I trot over to hardware forums, and put a post up to see if anyone else has had this problem.
The reply i get?
"Can you check what your MTU setting is at?"

Date: 2005-03-28 10:47 am (UTC)It's the CHECK YOUR MTU!! 'support' (and I use that term loosely) suggestion on the forum that gives me the urge to poke my own eyeballs out with a fork....and this little bastard is probably one of those ones who sits there and claims WE don't know what we're doing...
