I'm having some problems with my DSL router. Specifically its being a skanky bitch and having hardware lockups when I attempt to initiate a DCC send in IRC in any port under 5000. I suspect it's either a firmware glitch, or a problem with IRC itself as winmx uses TCP and UDP ports far below this threshold without any hiccoughs (and DCC chat goes through fine), as does all other traffic when tested.

So, I trot over to hardware forums, and put a post up to see if anyone else has had this problem.

The reply i get?

"Can you check what your MTU setting is at?"

Oh, yeah I've actually had problems with a few D-Links in my day. I had one overheat on me. I've kinda stuck with Linksys or Netgear. But getting to your problem - have you checked D-Link's site and attempted a firmware update? (albeit a real pain in the ass) and that's pretty basic functionality that should have worked out of the box..
