User cannot log in after password change

PC has not been used for some time - may not have picked up new login context settings yet.

Asked user to find asset number on right side of PC
User cannot find label.
Gave detailed description as to what the label looks like and where it can be found.

User "Can only see the login box"
User is looking at monitor display.
Advised user again to look at the right side of the base unit where floppy disks go.

User says that PC "does not have a right side as it is not a tower unit".

User asks what it was she was looking for.
Advised user the right side of PC would be a start.
User has found right side of PC.

Asset number obtained – remotely logged in and wrong context problem corrected via Dameware.

Heh.

IBM engineers used to be very creative about finding the damnedest spots to place the M/T-S/N plaque on their older desktops (Pentium II and before). NetVista and ThinkCentre series are a good deal easier in this regard, but their POS machines are quite another story...

Me: The-asset-barcode-which-is-a-white-sticker-on-the-side-of-the-PC-box-and-has-a-black-barcode-on-it-with-a-number-starting-with-"I.T.", it is a STICKER on the SIDE of the PC BOX.
(Wait... count, one, two...)

Me: ...with a BARCODE.

Caller: Oh! I found a sticker with a barcode, it starts with "I.T.", is that the number you wanted?

Me: (elegantly mutes phone, spits out plume of ground tooth enamel, unmutes phone in one well-practiced action) Why yes, please read out that barcode sticker number to me.
