Jul. 30th, 2004 10:04 amI just had four phone calls in less than ten minutes from the same woman. She doesn't have the software that I support, she has something else. Four times I've sent her to the main line for which I only have a five-digit extension. Four times I got yelled at because this woman was sent to the wrong place. The main operator's manager was unavailable. I have the urge to defenestrate something very large just to hear a loud breaking crunching noise.
Does anyone else's tech support department get dumped on with crap that no one else in the corporation knows what to do with?

Date: 2004-07-30 09:02 am (UTC)I've been trying (with little success) to convince some of my users that they need to actually call the help desk and not me -- with only two of us here, they have a 50% chance of getting me. Plus, if I'm on a call, I tend to ignore my private line unless it's someone who I /really/ need to talk to.
Our receptionist just sends anyone who mentions 'computer' to the help desk, which means we get sales calls. A lot.
