I expected most of my posts here to be about stupid users, but today I had a run-in with a stupid helpdesk:

Our contracting officer tried to go through your online access to view his statement today and received this error:

"The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a Web Browser. Adobe Acrobat/Reader version 8 or 9 is required. Please exit and try again."

His computer is running Adobe Reader 9.1, and Adobe Acrobat 8.1. We tried setting PDFs to open automatically with both programs; no luck. Tried rebooting the machine; no luck. What do we need to do to fix this?

Hello,
Please reboot the program and hopefully that will work. You are correct on the programs.

When I said to not store data on the non-raided drive in the 2u server, you shouldn't have. The hard drive was meant for the 1u servers, only. It was just there for physical storage so i didn't lose the drive in inventory.

The 2 memos I sent out last week asked you to move the data off the drive.

I even brought this up in the conference call this morning, to which you just bitched "This whole thing was supposed to be redundant!!!" And when I said I told you so, you then ended your argument with "I'm done. This is a moot point."

What's moot about it? You have SQL data on a non-raided WD drive. one of the same batch that croaked last month.

I'm giving him 48hours to move it, or I'm moving it and physically taking the drive out of the machine.

Also, you the same idiot, every problem we have had with these servers, which you were first to blame on me or my boss, was ironically your fault. If a problem arises, ask me first.
