I can just see a user bothering their tech guy.. but the guy I bought it from said it was fast!

Ma'am, what operating system are you using?
XP 2002 Norton Pro

58 unused floppies? What, did they only need 2 and bought the discount 60 pack?

So, a few weeks ago, my 10 year old daughter asked why I was having so many problems at work with the systems and network. I figured out a way to explain it to her, and it's worked with others, so I offer it for amusement, or perhaps to be swiped by those who can use it.

I said to her "You know how you can go to the store and buy a TIE Fighter Lego set? It has all the right pieces, and when you put it together, it looks like a TIE fighter, right?"

"Just down the aisle from that is the big ol' bucket of Lego blocks. You can use that to make something that sorta looks like a TIE fighter, but not really."

"Well, the way the computers and systems should be set up is like the TIE fighter set. But what we have to deal with at work is what someone put together with the big bucket of Legos. And it looks more like a borg ship than a TIE fighter."

Feel free to substitute you LEGO set of choice for "TIE fighter"

Enough time has passed that even the guilty parties probably won't recognise themselves in these logs, so perhaps they can safely be shared. (If not, meh. I don't work there anymore.)
