Bad call today (longish)

Brief intro: Level One Phone Monkey for a ISP call center.
So I had the worst call so far in my short tenure in this job. It wasn't that bad, but it did leave me a little upset and slightly shaken.
This guy's account was just reconnected, but he couldn't get online. It's a common enough issue. All I have to do is go and remake the connection in the firmware of the modem. Except not, because he's getting a 192.168.0.1 IP, which is a router IP. Now the guy is refusing to troubleshoot at all, because he KNOWS what the issue is. It's not the modem, he says (even though the previous tech had him bypass the router and the dude was getting a 169 address, which is bad. On that call, the guy had refused to let him send out a new modem). In the meantime between that incident and this one (about a month or two) they had been disconnected for nonpayment. Probably b/c their connection wasn't working (surprise surprise) and they didn't want to pay.
I just needed to get that off my chest to people who remotely knew what I was talking about.
