Kind of a self-aimed rant in the community, but what the hey... it's Tech and it's Fucked Up!

Ok, so maybe it's more be being tired and pissed, but hey...

Comcast - I Ridicule Thee.

I can -- almost -- accept that handing payment that consists of non-folding money to a young, minimum wage, cashier will often as not provoke a deer in the headlights look. I can handle the idea that the guy walking the floor in a Best Buy or Circuit City doesn't have all the technical media standards memorized, or that a comp-u-hell-in-a-box worked might not know BGP or the OSI layers...

BUT DAMMIT! I EXPECT CORPORATE LEVEL WEB PROGRAMMERS TO UNDERSTAND MATH!

$64 > $128 ??? )

I posted a bit ago about a guy giving me a hard time about the dimensions for a video he wanted me to put on his site. Well, it gets worse.

But you said flash )

My head hurts...

This help desk monkey got ThinkGeek gift certs for her admins only to find out they didn't know about today. Did anyone else even know about this? Did any users do anything sweet?

So, we now have a makeshift banner of printed letters and ribbon across the entrance to our department.

It begs to be rearranged.

Anyone have any good anagrams for HAPPY SYSTEM ADMIN DAY? Don't worry about being NSFW. Best I have come up with so far are:

MY HYMEN PAD STAYS PAID
PASTY MY ADIDAS NYMPHE
MY NAPPY MAD YEAST DISH

Suggestions welcome.

[edit: Yes, I have already done a search. The point is a little brainwork, and a little fun, which Google has a rep for killing.]

some of you will probably get a giggle out of this.

I was on an interview, as I got fed up with my previous position, and my interviewer opened up for any questions.

HIM: Any questions you'd like to ask me?

ME: Yeah, Windows is obviously a given, but what other platforms do you support?

HIM: Mac...

ME: From which version?

HIM: 8.6 and newer

ME: Any of the Linux Flavors?

HIM: ...how often do you think the average Linux user really needs to call tech support for a DSL issue...?

Had a rather... cryptic conversation with a colleague the other week.

Colleague: *looking at size of badmail on exchange* It's all stuff that should never have got to us.
Me: How do you mean?
Colleague: Well, it's electronic data, isn't it? And sometimes it passes us by.
Me: *laughs, thinking he's messing*
Colleague: *indignant* No, but it is! It's all noughts and ones.

Thought it best to just leave the room, quietly, at this point. Sometimes there are conversations it's just best not to persue.
