OUR DAY HAS ARRIVED!

Not much, but it's a start. 'Bout time these bastards got what was coming to them!

They advertise that they provide "Award Winning" support. As long as it's the Boobie Prize! Outsourced support that is forced to work from a script, impossible to get help, and other such evil things.

Sorry for ranting, folks, but I had to try and support their shoddy product time and again due to the fact that, and I quote, "No, please dear God no, do *NOT* send me to them. They won't help, not in the least! I knew I shouldn't have paid for the extra support!!!"

Hopefully this will be the start of a move against the Sales Teams having free reign on our services, folks. Don't know about the rest of you, but making bricks without straw because some MBA thought "It'd sound cool and make lots of sales!".

me: Is the audiometer on?
cw: Yes.
me: I'm going to ask this question again. Is the audiometer on? (she answered the question far too quickly, so i had doubts about the validity)
cw: yes, the light is beeping at me.
me: .....the light is beeping at you?
cw: yeah, it's sitting here beeping.
me: which light is, uh, beeping?
cw: the one on the simulator?
me: no, that's the simulator. Is the audiometer on?
cw: I think so?
me: Top of the audiometer itself, next to the headphone jack, there's a little red light. Is it lit?
cw: *sounds of her getting off her ass* uhh, no?

This morning there's a witch hunt going on for someone who added a VERY BAD CONFIG LINE this morning.

It's quite funny to watch everyone using every trick in the book to catch the culprit (I was a suspect because I was VPN'd in around that time), without resorting to TACACS logs.

Oh yeah, we don't have TACACS. Weeeeee!

So... not even a week after I shout out my "Yay for not being technical support!" I get told our entire building is folding into technical support, except for the REALLY basic customer support. If I go for tech support I get a raise, and my supervisor is flagging me for advanced tech support, due to suspicions of competence, in which case I'd get a hefty raise. Since I'm making more here than I ever did elsewhere, that's good.

There is one thing I won't miss about customer service )
*sigh* I'm not entirely looking forward to this, but at least I know I can do it, and do it well.
