One of the joys of IT here in Qatar is that we have *one* Apple dealer in the entire country. Though, considering how old their stock is, "Apple Museum" may be a lot closer to accurate. They're also the local repair centre. They're also slow, expensive, and a bloody pain the arse to deal with.

Now IT where I work boasts two certified Apple Repair Technicians, myself included. However, we're not employed as such, and are limited to the usual user-servicable repairs. Joy unending.

Recently we had to send a G4 tower out to get repaired. A repair that could have been done in 20 minutes had we had the parts and were certified as a repair centre. We're not, so three weeks later, it was back.

While bench testing it, I noticed that the dealer's repair centre had placed a "do not remove" warranty tag on the back of the machine, with the invoice number and date.

And placed it directly over the exhaust holes on the back of the case. Which means all that lovely hot air in the case didn't have a route out of said case.

*faceplant* It's not like they NEED to drum up business, they're the only game in town.......

F*ck you very much.

Found in her Outbox while repairing her Mac email client for the 100th time:

HTML and text format - doesn't matter. Our mail server is not accepting entourage application. The IT department has informed me to use our web based mail connection to send mail. GO IT!!! That is the best solution they can think of instead of coming up with the solution to the application conflicts. that and rebuilding my computer and reinstalling my mail application. GO IT!!! What a joke sometimes. I'm working through some one else who knows MACs but the draw back is they do not know our mail server.

Yo bitch, why don't YOU f*cking come over here and take a f*cking crack at it? Ever wonder why it's just only YOU that has this problem? Hmmmm? Ever hear the word PEBKAC? Ever hear the words "clue by four?"

(those of you who know anyone at Mister Company will kindly keep your mouths shut, I want to keep my job, thank you)
