... I think I'll go out for a while....

Sorry, got wrapped up in the moment.

You want irony? My computer doesn't work. In order to access our CRM, I have to log into a Citrix tunnel and then launch a web app through said tunnel.

My Citrix client is busted. My computer is actually a client system. I can't call my employer's helpdesk, they'r enot allaowed to support client systems, regardless of the issue. I can't call the client helpdesk, because they don't support vendor applications. I have to wait until my boss gets here to grab his external HD, back up my important stuff, and then see if I can get the Citrix client reinstalled. During this time, SLA is slowly ticking away on all the tickets left from last night. Lovely!

Well, looks like it's time for a coffee break, I guess.

Thought you guys mike like the exchange i had with thinkgeek.com and since it involves their customer support i can say it's support related.

my email to thinkgeek.com :
Subject: WHY MUST YOU TORTURE ME THIS WAY THINKGEEK!!!
So happy and elated and excited i was to see GEEK badge holders... http://www.thinkgeek.com/homeoffice/gear/57af/ so filled with childlike smiles and coffee flavored chocolate chip dreams of walking around the workplace with my geek badge holder. it was sold out. ALAS i remark aloud, sparking the occasional strange look from the tech's nearby, but nearly immediately i took solace in the fact that the geek badges would soon return, as the estimated date for re-stocking was only a few days away! my heart again lept and was held aloft by the wings of hope. the estimated day came. i checked. my heart lost some of it's altitude as i saw that the geek badge holder of my dreams was still not in stock, but again the updraft caught and lifted the hope of my heart like the warm exhaust of redundant server power supplys as i noticed that the estimated date was TOMORROW! OH JOY i shouted, which drew nervous whispering from co-workers, but i minded their useless prattering NOT one wit.

Here it is a week later... and the hopes and dreams i had are now dashed upon the raised floor of the room in which i sit, for the item is STILL not in stock and it has been at least a week, and for each day of that week the estimated date has been "Tomorrow". i have now learned the very powerful lesson, one that i had hoped wasn't true. THAT PAGES ON THE INTERNET CAN LIE TO YOU!!! oh how my heart sank when this realization took hold on my now hollow feeling heart. i also realized that this was probably the reason bill gates hasn't sent me my $1,000.00 even tho i forwarded that damned email at LEAST a dozen times.

so now here i sit... a little older... a little wiser, and yet still sans geek badge holder, and STILL the web page taunts me with it's tales of estimated tomorrow in stock dates!!!

WHEN WILL YOU END THIS MADNESS?!?!?! TAUNT ME NO MORE THINKGEEK, for i cannot take it!!! when WILL this item be in stock?!?! my loins ache for it's return!!!

thanks,
teases.

Their Response:
Thank you for your enthusiastic and perhaps slightly unhealthy interest in our products, Valis! We expect to have the "geek" badge holders back in stock in about 5-10 business days. Please don't do anything rash in the interim, and if you do, please don't mention us. Thanks!
