Ok, my first call this morning. She's just finished running chkdsk /r and it still won't boot to windows. I try to run a repair install:
Me: Ok, when it says "Press any key..." hit enter.
Id10t: "n"er?
Me: enter.
moron: when?
Me: as soon as it says "Press any key to boot to CD...."
stupid: should I turn my computer on now?
Me: *so much better than sitting here staring at a blank screen, doncha think?*
So we go through all that, can't get a repair to run, and end up having to format and reload. Like a good little tech, I explain what we're going to do.
Idiot: So this will take everything off my computer?
Me: yes.
Idiot: Can't I take it to someone to have them do it?
Me: yes, but they'll charge you for it, and where we are now, you'll have to push two buttons to get started. (all she had to do was move the highlight to "format NTFS quick" and hit enter).
Her: I don't know, I'm pretty scared.
Me: *just push the damn button already*
So I finally get her to go through it, and I explain the process she'll have to follow once she's done reloading the OS (reload drivers, applications, etc...). Then she lays this on me:
Mornon: So if I get scared, can I just turn it off and take my brain to somebody else to have them do it...
Me: o_O *I think that would be a very good idea. Give your brain to someone else, because you're obviously not using it.*
Me: Ok, when it says "Press any key..." hit enter.
