Ok, here's one for ya guys. Those of you that do end-user support: Which region/state/town do you talk to that seems to have the highest concentration of slack-jawed, mouth-breathing, inattentive, inbreeding idiot users?

Internal support (IE: those who support your coworkers in their infinitely idiotic glory): which department do you have the highest concentration of idiots?

This survey brought to you by the guy from West Virginia who cannot spell 'admin' when it's spelled phonetically to him three times.

What is the burnout period for Tech Support? 18 months is the period I recall..

Farewell sweet call queue )
In front me is PHP, SQL, a bit of assistant admining and some light internal helpdesk. Call me PFY.

Now I realize that the suckiness will persue me to the ends of the Earth, and that Murphy is just waiting to give me a big ol' reality check, but still, a change will be much appreciated.

Dear usually cool quickiemart guy,

It's Sunday afternoon. I am buying a pack of Reese's and a jug of milk. I am also wearing a T-shirt that says "No, I will not fix your computer."

Why, then, do you immediately go OH HAY MY COMPUTER'S BROKE CAN YOU COME FIX IT when I put my stuff on the counter? No. No, not even if you do pay, because the only people whose computers I fix on my days off are my stepmom's and my mom's, because they are immediate family (also because they feed me well and give me cigarettes in return). You are not immediate family. You can bring the damn thing to the shop tomorrow if you want me to fix it that damn bad.

Love,
Me

P.S. You've been out of lime Diet Coke for a week.
