Okay, lets talk about something which has been a forgotten fact about call centers EVERYWHERE. Its actually two things but they fall right into each other. Please do not take any of this personally as I am referring to the call center where I work specifically. I have always felt that management here treats everyone as if they are entry-level kids looking for some allowance money and I now realize why. There are people here who are 50 and 60 years old working (I swear to you its true) but even THEY act like small school children. This place is like high school all over again, if someone doesnt like someone else then you're fucked.

I mean WOW, even management sometimes comes up with the weirdest excuses to make you look bad, its really sad. Now I know you're thinking "but that happens everywhere" yeah I know and thats the sad part! I mean its freaking crazy when we're all supposed to be mature adults looking for the same thing: a place to work where we get paid enough money to buy some toys and provide for our families. It just amazes me how stupid a workplace can be, makes me want to go out and start my own company TODAY.

Okay now for another small issue. In a call center environment it is obvious that the ability to have an "office" is non-existant and so there are some shady characters at work that all they do is walk around all day looking at other people's monitors to see what they're doing or looking at. I'd like to say to "mr monitor lookey" f-off and die! go play with yourself or something and leave us the hell alone.

Cheers!

I would just like the world to know that I don't think that Footy Tipping Software is that important in a corporate setting, and don't appreciate bitchy emails that it isn't working.

I'm just hoping that they exclude all Footy Tipping cases from what we get penalised for, because that's just ridiculous. Especially the part where it's taking away time from legitimate, business related issues.

Some background... my colleagues and I do tech for our district schools - about 90 schools in total, with kids ranging from 4 to 18 years of age.

I've been helping out on our Helldesk all week and one of our field guys phoned in to get some of his calls closed down and I was having a chat with him and he was telling me about a visit he'd had to one of our primary schools...

He was in a Primary 2 class (so, 5 and 6 year olds) setting up a machine and the teacher was doing show and tell with the class.

A handful of kids had already done their bit and the teacher asked the next wee lad to come and show what he'd brought in.

This wee lad stood up at the front of the class, rummaged in his bag and brought out a remote control. For a telly.

The teacher, with a slightly puzzled look on her face asked him to explain why he'd brought a remote control to school with him to show the class.

As innocently as you like he says "Well, my mam says that if I brought this to school then she might be able to get my da to do some fucking housework when he gets in"

The teacher apparently just took a deep breath and moved on to the next kid "So, what did you bring to show us today?".

My colleague nearly fell off his dinky little chair at that point and I nearly choked on my voicetube when he told me.
