The day starts out quiet, then all of the sudden bam. 40+ calls waiting. It's 9:25AM.
What the heck happened? Well, several things.
First off, we have a tool to show us what exactly what is going on with a cable modem such as signal levels, speed, time, basic stats, etc. It decides that it's going to be flaky. It decided it wouldn't poll modems anymore. Great...
So then round two comes, provisioning decides it wants to back up. Wonderful, now the only thing we can do with the cable modems is power cycle without provisioning. I don't care really, most of the issues I've had just are user stupidity. It is annoying however, because people want to reset the passwords on the account, and we can, it will just take a long time to take to go through. That's annoying. People yell at us for that crap.
Finally, we lost a headend this morning in the OC. Those people are the most evil, stingy bastards you would ever meet. We put up the IVR, but of course no one listens to the thing. They have to yell in my ear because they can't run their business on our residential line. Stupid f*ks. Don't give me s*it. Pay the extra $10-20, run your business and go scream at them.
It's now 10:30 and the calls are down to 0. Perhaps the people have finally caught on to that were working on it?? One can only hope.
I still have 6 hours of this....crap.
