Today (yesterday actually) was my birthday, and I had an excellent day at work, staring off with solving a rather nasty Installshield bug over the phone. I'm amazed, some users are competent enough to follow along editing the registry! Scored two new customers and helped a couple others with the usual network/internet issues, AKA they needed a thick crust of spyware scrubbed off their machines.

Had a nice dinner, came home, got a workout, sat down at my perfectly tuned and well-behaved computer...

...yeah right...

...only to discover my LiveUpdate has been broken and ignoring new virusdefs for a freakin' MONTH.

I've just started a new job, and been given a laptop temporarily. It was running rather slower than I would have expected and I'm getting popups on *every* web site. Asked IT to have a look at it, and they assured me it was fine. Poked it with SS&D and AdAware. What a surprise, the thing's crawling with crud. I'm not exactly impressed with this lot so far...

Makes some interesting points.

Here's a question. Why on earth would google want you to have 1 gig worth of webspace? What does that get google?

As this community has been pointed out to me, I thought I'd better stick something up..

What are peoples records for virus infestation?.. the highest number of infected files on one stand-alone PC here is 82,137..
