Ascend Tech
Jan. 27th, 2010 03:48 pmI am unimpressed with their hardware and their RMA people. I bought a computer that turned out to be a refurb, and I don't want it. I wish to send it back. The case is marred on arrival and I'm not 100% satisfied. I didn't know I was buying a refurbed gateway computer, for nearly a thousand dollars.
They have already threatened me with www.badcustomer.com within 2 emails.

Date: 2010-01-27 09:04 pm (UTC)They have been saying that it was clearly posted on their site that I was buying a refurb, but it says "recertified."
Yes, I fell prey to a stupid user trick.
I don't care. If this was a bricks and mortar store, I'd be able to walk in and return the product.

Date: 2010-01-28 12:58 am (UTC)In a way "refurbished" is superior because it implies some effort has been taken to return it to the original appearance and durability by replacing high-wear items and other frequent maintenance items, while a "recertified" item may have just been checked over and passed as-is.
This is speaking over my experience with the general maintenance industry, not just PCs and electronics. Individual vendors can use the terms differently, but it ought to be pretty close unless they are fraudulent.

Date: 2010-01-28 03:51 pm (UTC)2 I was stupid. I was merely posting that info as warning.
I cannot say my life was wasted. I simply serve as a warning to others.

Date: 2010-01-29 04:37 am (UTC)I think thats pretty clear. Did you seriously give your credit card number to a random website without reading their terms?
...you MUST be a windows user.
