A new fix, we have recently started to support the iOpener netpliance. The most common fix?

Unplug it for two hours and let the update take hold finally. So we here figured we should start having everybody unplug their computer for any problem regardless of their actually computer type.

Yes sir you heard me correctly, unplug your computer for two hours, give it a go and call us back if you continue to have problems.

Coming from MS Outlook/OE support, I heartily agree! 95% of our problems are ISP (MSN in particular) related, if the customer would just wait a few hours and try again, it usually works. Instead they want us to create new profiles/identities, rip the account out and recreate it, rip the software out and reinstall it, upgrade the software, and when that all finally doesn't work, then send them to their ISP.

I dont know. I have always found that the easiest way to fix things is the simplest. Stand up, take aim, and give the POS machine a good kick! Hey...1 out of 50 times it works...wonder if it has a loose cable...lol

BTW, Hi, Im fresh into the real IT field...but ive done my share of little stuff before and my favorite still has to be "My cup holder broke" :)

is it just me, or have you noticed that most of those people using I-Openers are by default over the age of 55? I think it was a requirement from Netappliance.

Haha, probably, I'm thinking they have to pass a requisite IQ test as well. They can't score over a certain bar. Have you seen the FAQ for the Netpliance?
