Dear Internet customers in California;

No I am not shirking my duties as tech support by telling you you are in an outage. I know the modem lights and  wireless signals and various Gods tell you that you are connected to the interwebs but when you try there is nothing. That is why its called a CONNECTED NOT TRANSFERRING  outage. No sirs and ma'ams, you are not the only one there are around 75 thousand other people experiencing the exact same thing. Only thing I can do is tell you to keep an eye on it and wait until tomorrow.

Oh yeah, when you first phone and you get that lovely automated message saying there is an outage, believe the robot lady, accept the robot lady, she will not steer you wrong ok? Trust me it will save you the hour long wait to get ahold of us.

The best is when they demand you send out a technician to their house THIS INSTANT after you've already informed them it's an area-wide issue for which technicians have already been dispatched to the proper location. You can tell them a hundred times the problem is not at their house but rather in a shack some twelve miles away, but they still want a tech in their home "just to check".

All this of course going on while you silently curse the first and second tier morons who passed this cretin all the way up to your level of support.

I've been steered wrong by the robot lady when she don't yet realize there's an outage but she's always right when she says there is one.
