Issue: Customer can't surf.
Resolution: Customer complains of no RF. Customer states that house is haunted by three separate spirits; two kids and an older man; the kids are mostly mischevious, and chase her children around; however, the 800-lb man is intimidating. Customer suspects that the ghosts may be interfering with the RF. No signal in laundry room; nothing in kitchen; one bar in living area; $RF_tool score of 1 [ed.: out of ~50], high interference. Verified SQ&A; xferred to $field_tech_line.

Date: 2008-02-03 07:44 pm (UTC)The ones who have paranoid delusions of persecution and a few other issues better covered in the DSM than in technical training materials are harder to deal with, especially when there's no clear opening to get them off the call. I've had a few who had such a tenuous connection to reality that I was basically along for the ride and forced to listen to ranting for an hour before I found some way to at least redirect them to something other than products I support. And it only takes one or two of those calls per week to really drain my soul, even without the angry asshats who've convinced themselves they're entitled to something totally unreasonable.
