Pet Peeves

I just have a few pet peeves when it comes to tech support.

1. I didn't tell you to type www. Do NOT type www unless I tell you. If I tell you to go to start.xxx.net then it doesn't mean go to www.start.xxx.net


2. I don't care how many times you have called. That fact matters not one iota to me.


3. Don't threaten to cancel. It makes me see a way to get rid of you quicker.


4. I don't like you. I am not your pal. I will not break company policy if you make jokes and banter. Deal.


5. I am not your whipping post. If you don't like the way I do it, call another company and get someone from East Asia.


6. I am not to blame for the fact that you have a computer that would have been turned into glue if it was a horse.


7. I am also not to blame for the fact that some dumbass didn't patch themselves and you are getting spammed with bogus email.


8. Contrary to popular belief, we do have better things to do than break your computer.

I hate that www too.

When people threaten to cancel sometimes I will call their bluff and open a voluntary disconect just to fuck with them. Usually they will either back down or call in the next day to cancel the vd.

When they say they're going to cancel I just quietly say ok, let me show you how to log into your account and cancel your services.

When they threaten to cancel with me I just break in saying, "Alright sir, I can get that handled for you." put them on hold and transfer them right to cancelation..

If they cancel, good, then we have one less idiot.
if they don't, they'll be a little more gunshy to threaten this again thinking they'll get punted again..
