There's nothing quite like doing tech support from your kitchen table while trying to get a toddler (1.33) and a preschooler (3.5) breakfasted and ready to go to the babysitter and to preschool, with a user who is a grandmother and a volunteer, trying to get the cafe's point-of-sale terminals out of their coma so she can open up by 9am. Luckily the onsite guy showed up about the time where I was running out of options to do it remotely.

In related news, of PC-Charge is a piece shit, and it seems to be a requirement for applications that connect to it to debase themselves to a similar level of piece of shittedness.

Nah, I didn't call PCC support. It was just acting like a POS. I kicked the machine in the head a time or two and all was well.

I do like the ability to remotely kick machines in the head. Especially when I can do it from the breakfast table with my kids climbing all over me.

I'll second that emotion. The sooner I can convince TPTB to drop this outdated relic from the DOS days, the happier I'll be.

I never did understand why software vendors ever thought it was a good idea to SELL something written in VB, which was never meant for production code, but rather for scripting and rapid prototyping.
