hack fixed if you care

For those of you who were interested, I patched my hack. it was the prepend.php file. eplaced it with an old one and I'm good to go.

Stupid hackers.

I know, they're crackers, but you can't just go saying stupid crackers. that'll get you beat up.

Well, fix is debateable. Basically a new prepend.php was inserted, so I put the correct one back in. There's not much more fixing to be done till I can figure out how it got in there in the first place. But it's up and running.

Probably because your webhost is running a vulnerable version of PHP. Skiddies are scanning for it like crazy.

I once inadvertently amused my (not very technical research survey call center) workplace a whole lot by calling one of my fellow supervisors a cracker. There was some comment, and I explained very patiently that a hacker is one who hacks, and a cracker is one who cracks, and therefore Mr. Lopez was a cracker, as he'd demonstrated his technical know-how by breaking into his buddy's e-mail account.

He busted up laughing and only then did the racial implications hit me.

Fortunately he has the right kind of sense of humor. "Hey, I'm a cracker now!" he laughed, and proceeded to tell all his buddies, who thought it was the funniest thing ever.
