I HATE it when new-hires come in...

For the next month all we get is pissed off people calling back in because some new tech either popped off at them, fed them a complete line of BS, or tried to quote some honestly unenforceable rule of tech support bounderies that everyone with half a brain ignores!

*rests his head on the desk and sighs*

Someone stop the planet.. I wanna get off....

I'd be thrilled to see new hires where i work, we now have 11 people doing the same amount of work 24 people did 2 years ago (a few lay-offs and attrition). Needless to say we are all stressed out and miserable. Even if the new hires took sometime to spin up it would still be a welcome relief.

True on all counts..

it's just management here has started bringing in people off the streets almost.. People who have never touched a computer before stepping onto this tech floor..

When we asked about raises recently we were replied with, "Why should we give you raises when we can bring in 2 new techs to do more work than you each at less then half your present salary.."

*sigh* pointy haired managers.. PHM's everywhere! they fail to realize that YES, they do pay me more, but I also have EXPERIENCE under my belt to know what to do with computers.. not just this 45 day "wonder-course" that's supposed to teach them 'everything' needed for networking uner windows 98,98se,me,2000,XP then also Mac OS 8,9 and X!

yeah.. right...
