Sep. 10th, 2003 04:43 pmabout the networking guys at work?
NG: "We have one of your computers IP XXXXXXXAB, that is blasting out the Welchia!"
Me: That number isn't one of mine. I have all 98s with the exception of two XP machines that have already been patched and cleaned squeaky. What was the IP address again?
NG: XXXXXXXXXBA.
Me: You said XXXXXXAB last time. Yeah, that is one of my IP addresses.
NG: You need to apply the patch and clean it.
Me: Okay. How do I do that on a networked HP printer?
Oh, yeah. I'm sure they're gonna fix this whole network problem any day now. ;-b

Date: 2003-09-10 04:48 pm (UTC)Wish I could figure an easy way to kill it.
Currently I have to spend about an hour or so sorting out every one of our 350 machines.
My boss let the virus in, and my colleagues seem incapable of running the software in the right order to clean in
(i.e. they run FixWlech, then service pack - by the time the SP is finished, its got reinfected!!)
Grrr.
