I work for a DSL ISP, and just had a customer who got completely "outraged" (his words, not mine) that we cut him off after sending "ONLY 500 emails" (His words, his emphasis).

There's a word for sending that many emails out from a consumer account.

It's called spam.

If you want to run a bloody mailing list, get a listserv or a business account. Otherwise, don't complain.

Kind of like the guy that called in to our help desk that wanted us to configure his bulk emailer and then complained when we told him that we were going to cancel his account if he intended to use it..

bulk mailers?

hahahah i love that. Who calls up their ISP and wants help setting up something that is usually forbidden in the TOS? Sure, nobody reads those anyhow. But still.. it's always nice to refer offenders to them and remind them that they were there the whole time.

Hey I had a guy get pissed at me because he couldn't send 50 at a time. It's really great customers get pissed at you over stupid things and say 'LET ME TALK TO YOUR MANAGER' and you lie and say I AM THE MANAGER!

This works especially well with dialup customers. I don't think they get the whole point of how many there are and how little they mean to the rest of the company (in comparison to DSL, T1, etc. customers).

Whatever, cancel your account. It doesn't matter. Nobody reads your email anyhow.

Customers suck.
