Recap: Tech Services (lowly tech I) at a big call center.

So I'm back at work after an 8 day holiday(only 6 of those were work days, but I work at a 24 hour center so stuff comes in all the time).

I arrive to find 827 emails waiting for me. About 35 of them were actually valuable info. As I'm sorting through the mess of work orders and rep resignations, I come across a gem.

Seems a rep had decided he didn't want to work here anymore, and brought a bottle of wine and a glass to work, and proceeded to drink throughout his shift. No one questioned this at first, because they thought it was... apple juice.

He no longer works here.

Oh, god that brings up cool opportunities....

I'm on the 29th floor, so although it would be a cool way to go, not likely to happen.

it would certainly be a "cool way to go" but probably a bit more permanent than most people would prefer ;)

We had a woman at our old workplace who was soused every other day. She would literally drink half a bottle of spirits at lunch time and come back almost comatose. This one time, she fell over in between the cubicle racks and wouldn't wake up for like five minutes. We laughed, we laughed.

Ah, but did you shave her eyebrows off?

It'd be kinda like kicking puppies.. Satisfying but ultimately cruel.. She really had an alcohol problem you know, so we kinda kept the mockery surreptitious.

LOL. I've been seriously tempted to sneak a little in myself. Working third shift it wouldn't really be all that hard to get away with, I'm sure. But, ultimately, all I've ever done is have a drink at lunchtime when at a restaruant that serves alcohol. Don't even do that anymore since none of them are open when I go to lunch around 1 or 2 am.

*giggle* I could probably get away with it because I am well-known in the workplace to be "the wacky one". Thus, things like me singing little songs, skipping in the aisles, and wearing a Darth Vader mask to motivate my phone goons, are commonplace and not to be remarked on.
