Jul. 27th, 2006 05:17 pmSales Droid: I need the DEDS data.
In the UK, if you resell BT's phone lines, you receive the billing data on a system called DEDS, which is old, nasty and involves ISDN dialup to BT's private network.
Me: What for? You told us you'd never need that.
Sales Droid: We need it now.
Me: *goes and fetches after much fiddling, and emails to droid* Enjoy!
Sales Droid: Hey, I don't have the program to open these files.
Me: That would rather be the point I made back in October when you were setting all this up, and also what I told Manager_X earlier when you mentioned needing the DEDS data to him. We have no programs to read the data. We need a billing platform to read the data... the thing that costs about 10,000 and you assured me that we would never need because we would never need to use the DEDS data.
