[identity profile] circe77.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] techrecovery
This is my first post in this community but I just had to share this. I just came across a definate QOTD from a fellow employee who doesn't bother to proof read their email replies before sending them to the customer.

We apologize for any incontinence that this may cause.

Needless to say the customer was like "Wtf?"

*sigh* Only 30 minutes left.

Reminds me of the time a coworker printed out signs and put them on all fifty lab machines, only to discover that they said "Comupter User Services".

My division are the keepers of a HP Plotter printer capable of printing 30x40 inch sized sheets for things like press conferences and other things that require large printouts.

I was e-mailed a PDF to print on our large plotter: After 20 minutes, two cardboard poster-boards and some spray-on adhesive, we have two nice looking posterboards to be displayed on the ground floor of the building. Problem: I don't proofread before I print, and there was a mispelling on said poster. And this wasn't a they're/their/there type error. This was something that a spell check should've caught.

The word was "executive" (spelled erroneously as "execuive"). Add on the fact that we (myself and the person requesting this) works in the office of a COUNTY EXECUTIVE, and you have a textbook definition of "irony."
