Followup on new boss:
Jun. 23rd, 2006 05:58 pmThe new desk manager has already issued an official verbal warning to the entire helpdesk because the daytime team lead saw somebody on the day shift using "After Call" status (which takes you out of availability to take a new call while you complete your case notes from the previous call) instead of "Aux 1" status (lunch break) while eating.
This is exactly the sort of thing I was talking about in my previous post on the subject when I mentioned that she treats people like misbehaving teenagers instead of rational adults. There's never been a concern about work not getting done before, but now she's in charge and we suddenly have a full blown national time management crisis going on.
So, yeah. Anyone have a lead on any tech support openings in the Atlanta area? Seriously. I'm not staying here and working for a psycho hosebeast.

Date: 2006-06-24 08:45 am (UTC)The problem I was seeing with most of the Monster stuff is that they wanted either a degree, two years or more of work experience, or both. I never got my degree, and have worked only a year and a hair in tech support.
Currently engaged in teaching myself SQL for somebody who made a vague mention of needing a SQL programmer, but I'm not sure if that's gonna work at all. SQL seems awfully simple. GET fname, lname FROM roster WHERE city = 'Los Angeles'. How hard can it be?

Date: 2006-06-24 10:24 pm (UTC)i had a supervisor aim me just the other day wanting to know why i wasn't on the phones yet. telling her "i was busy talking to HR" certainly shut her up.
granted, kiz's situation is much worse, as when i had that psychopath and she -saw- me talking to HR, she assumed it was about her. that very next day she started proceedings to try to get me fired. she's that level of crazy.
