We've got a new sales droid.

She's not going to be local, so we gave her a laptop.

We have an application that MUST be run locally to our servers.

We had *HAD* to give her PCAnywhere.

Trying to explain that there is another computer and that it's not the same as her laptop is...

I was just talking to my boss (who's out of town on training) about the crazy rdp to rdp to vpn tunnel supporting rdp insanity he'd had to rig up just to get out of the insanolan at the vendor site he's at, then into the lan here at the office. I started twitching when I read this, trying to imagine getting your user through that kind of lash-up.

But yeah, there are some minds which I think simply aren't capable of the abstraction involved in just a single layer of remote sessioning. And to explain it over the phone... *horrors*

Give up on PCAnywhere and use terminal services and/or Citrix, and lock it down.
