I'm new to this community. I've been working for a university for 3 years in tech support / lab supervisor status. I've been tempted to do some freelance tech support after having a few little set up jobs fall into my lap, and I was just wondering if anyone had any experience in this area? I'm basically looking for info on all the legalities of it. What kind of disclaimer do I need to get customers to sign so they don't sue me if I cannot fix their computer because they spilt coffee on the motherboard and won't boot, but over the phone, just said that it was "slow"?

Thanks.

I'm not sure about this, but I'll bet it varies by state. I think it would be worth it to hire someone locally who's doing the kind of job you want to do and see what kind of form zie has you sign and/or ask them what they do to avoid that situation.
