Apr. 7th, 2006 11:23 amSo, I joined the ranks of those we support today...
Tried to print a ticket while I had a couple of laptops balanced on the printer (long story)
Printer jammed and I cleared the jam, but it won't print.
Open it back up, inspect the guts, no jam.
Reboot everything
Still wont' print
"Hey, $printertech. Something's up with my printer. It no worky"
$printertech comes over, takes one glance, opens the empty paper tray...
and tells me to add paper.
I. forgot. to check. my paper tray.
*sob*

- yell at $printertech
- insist that it must be a flaw in the universe because you're an uber-tech wizard
- threaten to call the FBI

Date: 2006-04-08 03:45 pm (UTC)I was playing WoW, and alt-tabbed to the desktop and loaded up Winamp so I could listen to music while I killed things.
All of a sudden, NO SOUND.
Checked all physical connections.
Checked all software/OS settings (and with a 5.1 surround sound system and an Audigy sound card, there are a LOT of settings).
Googled any possible issues with sound card and/or speakers in conjunction with simultaneous Wow/Winamp useage. None found.
Downloaded updated Audigy drivers. Installed. No dice.
Proceeded to freak out.
Went out on to the porch to smoke a cig and calm down. Thought for a moment. Came back in.
Turned up the volume control on Winamp.
