It appears i have suddenly started talking in Swahili tonight...or i may aswell have been, people who cannot follow instructions, or maybe it's just sheer ignorance? I mean I might be completely deranged or something...but i don't think this is at all difficult:

Thankyou for calling [insert company name here] my name is freakyhipchick, can i take your telephone number please?

Simple right? apparently not, i had this one guy first completely ignore what i said and launched into telling me what his problem was..so i waited while he inanely described his problem, paused and again, i asked for his telephone number...he replies with his email address....Um thats nice to know, but what do you want me to do with it? Spam you? Yeah sure, it would be a pleasure!

Meh...and also people who seem to think we have a nifty button on our phone that turns our voice up....I may be wrong but i have never heard of one of those buttons...i actually have to raise my voice....and then they complain i am shouting, gah! *headdesk*

If you use headsets, the amp for the headset will often have a knob for adjusting the mic volume. It's sometimes hidden underneath the amp or on the side. Regular phones with no headset, I don't know of any that have an adjustable mic volume.

Heh, we have the same thing, needing phone number and last name first. Until we have that, we can't even put in any notes. And it's not like every utility, bank, insurance company, etc. doesn't ask for ID info first. The thought that comes into my mind is: "What color is the sky in your world?" when I have to let the run down and then start the entire process from the start, 'cause they won't shut up. Oh well, I'm paid by the dollar.

So, I suck at the commenting. O_o It was supposed to be: "Icon (less than 3)" but of course the angle bracket caused it to get eaten up as HTML.

But, yeah. Love the icon.

The very same.
I was too lazy to use the & l t ; notation :P
I blame it on lack of sleep accompanied by the outbound mail server taking a dump this morning. Typical Monday.

All this fuss over a little icon love. Only I could manage something like this. i r truly teh suck...

Not so very long ago I had a user come into the helpdesk chat. After a few minutes I had to tell him we can't help because we don't support Macs.

Me: I'm sorry, we can't help you with your Mac.
Him: Can you elaborate, please?
Me: We don't support Macintosh users here.
Him: I don't understand.
Me: No Macintosh support here, sir.
Him: Can you explain it differently?
[user is ejected from the chat software mysteriously]

(shrug - I don't know what happened, boss. Honestly!)

I tried to explain that to someone one night. My phone lets me turn up your voice. You need to turn up your phone if you can't hear me. It didn't work. I ended up disturbing the people at the other end of the building instead as I yelled him through reinstalling his nic.
